Ever hear of a suburb in the Chicago area called Andersonville?
Ever hear of the Chicago House?
Ever hear of Susan M. Olmetti?
Ever hear of the SIR Spa?
Andersonville is a Chicago suburb which was established by immigrant Swedish farmers in the mid-1800s and is currently inhabited by more than 75 locally owned, independent businesses and a significant gay and lesbian community.
The Chicago House provides housing and supportive services to HIV-affected families and individuals.
SIR Spa is Chicago's premier day spa catering exclusively to men.
Susan M. Olmetti is a internationally known artist.
During the weekend starting Oct. 2nd all of these elements are coming together to help those who are HIV positive. Fifty percent of the proceeds from this event will be donated to Chicago House.
Today I'm very happy to present Susan M. Olmetti, a internationally known artist, a straight woman, a new found friend.
"30 something" year-old Susan M. Olmetti contacted me recently to let me know about her upcoming art show/auction to benefit the Chicago House.
This signature showcase featuring over 25 pieces of Susan's work will be held at SIR Spa.
Sir Spa is located at 5151 N Clark St in Andersonville. The event starts at 7 PM Oct 2nd.
Susan's activities and support of the Stonewall veterans association has earned her a special designation as Honorary Member of the S.V.A.
While Susan is composing her next series, she is collaborating with writer Stanley Bard and writer Melanie Aaron to record her biography covering her struggles with bipolar disorder and international artistic accomplishments, along with a script entitled, "Nine Months After Father's Day."
