Pulpit Dare: Start Preaching Biblical Teachings on Slavery and Women

The vast majority of LGBT opponents come from religious circles. They use the bible as a weapon of hate instead of an instrument of love. Most claim the bible is perfect, always right and without error. Many claim it is the ‘word of god’ although everyone knows the bible was not dictated and it is the ‘inspired word of men’.

Even though some of our opponents stand in direct contradiction to biblical teachings they still feel justified in attacking members of our LGBT community. For instance, women preachers, biblically, are not allowed. In fact, according to the bible, women are to sit in the back of the church and are not allowed to ever discuss religion with men.

Such people are turning the bible into a book of hate. They are the ones doing the most harm to the true religious message; the message of love.

If the message isn’t about love, there is anything Holy about it!

Many, who use the bible as a weapon, deny the bible is a tool of hate. I suggest the bible can be whatever anyone wishes it to be.

As an exercise in practical application I dare any who preach from the pulpit to start preaching what the bible says about slavery. Or start teaching and enforcing (in their houses of worship) the biblical guidelines/rules for women.

We all know they won’t do that because they would have lawyers serving them with papers.

Religious people who espouse hate are the ones risking their own salvation.

If you are going to err, it’s best to err on the side of love.
