Father Of Marine Ordered To Pay For Fred Phelps Appeal

This is just wrong in so many ways.

In 2006 Albert Snyder was mourning the loss of his son. His son Marine Lance Cpl. Matthew Snyder died in Iraq.

To add insult to injury the Phelps Clan held a picket near and during the funeral for Lance Cpl. Matthew Snyder.

Not so long ago we heard, in the fall, the Supreme Court is going to rule on the Phelps Clan in regards to freedom of speech.

You see Albert Snyder sued the Phelps Clan over the protest and that was the catalyst for all of this.

Now the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has ordered him to pay $16,510.80 to Phelps for costs relating to the appeal. Snyder's attorney states there is no timetable for when the costs must be paid, but if his client doesn't have the money when Phelps requests payment, the matter would go into collections. Snyder could lose his property or his wages.
