Religious justification of 'going after the children'

There is a reason we see so many religious folks holding up children as an argument against homosexuality.

We all know the liar who states “everyone lies”, in justification of their own lies. Or the adulterer who states “everyone cheats”. Speaking of adultery, let us not forget that the bible clearly states a man who marries a woman who was previously married is committing adultery. It also states a man who looks at a woman in a lustful way has committed adultery. Considering the fact adultery is on the religious ‘top ten list’ (note: homosexuality is not), adultery is a serious offense.

I was born into a catholic family and was baptized shortly thereafter. Since I was still an infant I obviously had no say in this. Unfortunately I don’t have the paperwork for my baptism and the catholic’s can’t seem to locate a record of my baptism (isn’t that convenient). So I am unable to remove my name from the ‘list’ of catholics.

Catholics are not the only religion that baptize infants.

Since many religions are ‘going after the children’ themselves, they must assume everyone else is as well in order to justify their own actions.
